Description

This intricately designed and hand painted figurine from the Meissen Monkey Band series is the Conductor. The monkey band was introduced by Meissen in mid 18th century, became extremely popular, and was reproduced by Meissen ever since. The set consists of 22 pieces including 21 monkey musicians and the conductor's music stand. As with all Meissen the Conductor is moulded with life like details from the finest porcelain. Each figurine is numbered on the underside next to the factory mark of the blue crossed swords.
